I left sunny Florida and headed to NYC for some NYFW Spring/Summer 2017 backstage beauty coverage with CND (Creative Nail Design). I knew it was going to be a dope day in fashion because when I pulled up to Sixty LES, which is the uber-chic hotel where the CND Design Lab was, the first person I saw was Jaden Smith casually standing outside hailing a cab.
Once I made my way to the penthouse, I joined CND Co-Founder Jan Arnold and CND Education Ambassador/Fashion Week Production Director Amanda Fontanarrosa for an exclusive look at the 1,500+ hand-designed nails their team created for the Libertine and Alice + Olivia collections.

NYFW Nails at Libertine SS17
I’m usually a pretty simple one color kind of girl, but after seeing the crazy nail art that CND created for the Libertine show makes me want to get an ornate nail design ASAP! The nails were dripping in fur, gold chains, dog portraits, crystals, graffiti and more. It was absolutely sickening in the best way!
NYFW Nails at Alice + Olivia SS17
The nails for Alice + Olivia were perfect spring mani inspo. They were decorated in gorgeous hand-painted green vines, hints of blush pink and adorned with Swarovski crystals.
Over 3,000 leaves were hand-drawn on these mystic garden inspired nails. These designs are soft and pretty but still bold with the detailed accents–I love it!
Get into Jan’s amazing nails by the uber-talented, Winnie Huang who was the season 3 winner of the TV show NAILS Next Top Nail Artist.
It was so much fun and super-inspiring to experience the talent, passion and hard work that went into creating these amazing runway nail looks. I can’t wait to see what this talented team serves up during New York Fashion Week in February!
