There are two things that Ne-Yo’s artist, R&B singer/songwriter RaVaughn Brown, knows like the back of her hand: love and music.
After college, the California native quickly made a name for herself as the industry’s go-to “demo girl,” lending her vocals to producers like Rico Love, Rodney Jerkins and Jim Jonsin.
She’s also an experienced background singer who has worked with Brandy (one of her all-time favorite artists), Keri Hilson, the cast of “Glee” and more.
It wasn’t long before a random studio encounter with singer/songwriter Ne-Yo landed this talented young artist the role of his protégé and a contract with his Compound University label.
“He’s one of the greatest songwriters of our time. For him to reach out to me and want to work with me was really a big deal.”
Now that she’s hooking fans with her smooth vocals and empowering lyrics, the “Best Friend” singer is preparing for the late-summer release of her debut album, Love Always. Her goal for this project is to serve up some head-nodding, emotion-twisting, authentic R&B.
