When I was a young girl, I always found myself obsessed with pictures of women from the 60’s and 70’s. The fashion was so posh, fun and eccentric. I’m a total lover of thrifting because it gives me the chance to search for rare pieces that standout in a crowd.
Well, back when I was in college I received this drool-worthy one-of-a-kind dress from someone who is near and dear to my heart–my godmother. Most of the unique and uber-stylish fashion and jewelry items that I own were given to me by her.
You guys know I love to give the occasional history lesson with a fashionable twist and a fun fact about Lady Jane is that it was the first women’s clothing boutique on Carnaby Street in London; it opened in 1966.
The shop had a reputation of being a bit edgy and risque because it sold see-through clothing and had models change clothes in the display windows.
How dope is that?!
Not only am I amazed at how adorable and fashion-forward this piece is decades after it was designed, but it also feels amazing to be able to wear something that was once near and dear to my godmother when she was around my age. The fact that she passed this piece down to me is so heartwarming and sweet.
Who knows, maybe I’ll pass it down to my god daughter one day.
Ciao Bellas,
