I work in a pretty bland building, that’s decorated in pretty bland colors, so I decided to brighten up the ambiance with my makeup look today. I can’t think of a better way to give all kinds of look-at-me-now swag, than to rock a vibrant, bold lip color. Today’s beauty weapon of choice was MAC’s Neon Orange Lipstick! (Gasps for air because I need this color in my life to breathe…Haha!)
I know most people consider it taboo to wear a bright color in a corporate workplace, but if you keep the rest of your makeup minimal and subtle, you can absolutely pull this off. (Plus in the world of F&B rules are made to be broken!!)
Here’s how I got the look:
- First I applied Camera Ready Primer from Manna Cosmetics to my face. (Which you all know I love!)
- Next, I applied my favorite foundation in the whole world MAC Studio Fix Fluid using a flat foundation brush. I put a little on my lips to serve as a primer and to help eliminate harsh lines from the makeup.
- Then, I added a warm reddish-brown blush to my cheeks from MAC called Raizin .
- Following this, I added the MAC Neon Orange lipstick without a liner. Be sure to cover the full lip, it makes your pout look fuller.
- Lastly, I applied two coats of Revlon’s Custom Eyes Mascara.
I drew inspiration from Lala’s color-block Christian Louboutin Summerissma sandals for this color scheme. How’d I do?
I need a pedi, so you can’t see the toes today, but I rocked my favorite Diego Dolcini shoes with this look! (I scooped these from the fashion closet while interning at Essence magazine!)
The blazer and skirt are both from H&M. The tank and ring are from Forever 21 and the neckalce is from the Goddiss Boutique!
After a few eyelash bats and air kisses to my cubicle wall, (don’t judge me!) I headed to the staff meeting.
Hope you’re having a glamazing Friday!
