Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I have deets on a glam event share with all of my F&B lovers in Florida! One of my go-to beauty brands, Lancôme, has partnered with the uber-fab celebrity makeup artist Mickey Williams to host a special event in Orlando at The Florida Mall! This event is in honor of the upcoming Génifique Day (formerly Genes Day)and will benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
On October 12, make sure you stop by the Lancôme counter at Dillard’s, between 12 p.m.-5 p.m., for a makeover by Mickey Williams. For every Génifique purchase totaling $35 or more, Lancôme will donate $7 to St. Jude, and you’ll get a free bottle of the skin hydrating Génifique serum.
Enough about me telling you how awesome this event will be. Here’s what Mickey had to say about her partnership with Lancôme to host this event and what beauty trends she’s loving for Fall 2012.
For those who are unfamiliar with Génifique Day, could you share its significance and what it means to you?
Génifique Day is a national event to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. On October 19, and at select Lancôme counters during the month of October, Lancôme will donate $7 from the in-store or online sale of every bottle of select Génifique products to St. Jude, one of the world’s premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases. This program marks Lancôme’s third year of support for St. Jude and I’m so honored to participate in such a worthy cause that gives back to kids in need.
Proceeds from this event will benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital, could you expound on your relationship with this hospital and why you’re partnering with Lancôme to support it?
I’ve always admired St. Jude and Lancôme independently of each other, so when the opportunity arose to work with two such incredible organizations – I jumped at it. I feel very fortunate to be lending my beauty know-how to help raise money for this very important cause.
What can attendees expect to experience when they arrive at the Dillard’s store in Orlando?
At Dillard’s in Orlando beauty lovers can get a makeover with me at the Lancôme counter! With a purchase of Génifique Concentrate they will not only receive a free gift but Lancôme and Dillard’s will also donate $7 to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. To top it all off, customers will be able to take pictures in Lancôme’s on-site photo-booth.
As a Florida native, how does it feel to be able to use your talents to give back to the community?
It feels incredible to be able to help children in need and I’m thrilled to partner with Lancôme for this cause. These children are so brave, and any small thing I can do to help raise funds to help them is a great feeling.
Let’s dabble into your beauty secrets! If you were deserted on an island and could only have one beauty product with you, what would it be?
Sunscreen! Without a doubt. I would burn to a crisp before anyone could rescue me if I didn’t have a stash. Hopefully I will stumble upon a washed up bag of hair ties, tooth paste and Blistex too.
What are your favorite beauty trends for the Fall 2012 season?
I love all of the fun/funky nail trends we are seeing for fall. Nail art and unexpected twists on classic colors and styles is still big and it’s one of the easiest ways to experiment with your look. I also love the natural skin that we are seeing. Women are really letting their natural beauty shine through, and simply using skin care and light tinted-moisturizers or foundations to create a flawless finish.
Isn’t Mickey awesome?! I’m sure she’ll have lots of beauty advice to share. This event is benefiting a great cause, so make sure you stop by and show your support!
