My Glam Interview With Celebrity Makeup Artist Valerie P. Hernandez-Garcia

Hey B&B friends! It’s been a while since I’ve shared some glamspiration via an interview, but I’m giving you an extra-special dose of fabulosity, today! A few weeks ago, I met the uber-talented (and equally sweet) Celebrity Makeup Artist Valerie P. Hernandez-Garcia during a visit to Las Vegas. She actually did my makeup and while she beat my face to the gawds, she shared some awesome beauty tips, and I knew I had to get set up time to feature her on the blog! She does ah-mazing work that oozes perfection.

Once her hectic NYFW schedule wrapped up I was able to pick Val’s brain about her work experience, beauty must-haves and the top beauty trends for A/W 2014. Check out our glam interview below!

How long have you worked in the beauty industry?

I have worked in the beauty industry for about 18yrs.

Who are some of your favorite celebs to work with?

Some of my all time favorite celebrities have been Jennifer Tilly and Kelly LeBrock.

What’s the biggest makeup faux pas that people make?

The biggest makeup faux pas for me is when mature women say they shy away from “loose minerals” because it’s a “powder” and will therefore accentuate wrinkles, when in fact “loose foundation” is the most natural of applications.

What are your top 3 beauty must-haves?

With New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week (A/W 2014) have wrapped up and the beauty world is buzzing with trends to try. What hair and makeup trends do you think we’ll see a lot of?

Trends for Autumn/Winter 2014 have been a combination of full brows, solid color from lash line to brow bone, pixie lashes and raspberry colored lips.
