Yesterday, I shared a snapshot of my time at Day 1 of The Makeup Show Orlando. Well, I was all prepared to show up to Day 2 of the event and my main objective was to see the uber-fabulous Celebrity Makeup Artist and product creator AJ Crimson.
I was devastated when car trouble caused me to miss his keynote presentation at The Makeup Show Orlando, which I heard was GLAMAZING! (I honestly wouldn’t expect anything less from him.)
I took to Twitter to share my disdain about missing his presentation, and he responded! (All the more reason to love him, right?!)
You see, AJ and I have a beauty past. Back in 2009 when I was an intern at Essence magazine, I pitched a story for Essence.com and the celebrity makeup artist that I wanted to interview for the piece was none other than Mr. Crimson! He was extremely personable and professional during the interview and I’ve marked it down as a milestone in kicking off my career as a beauty writer.
During my time as the Beauty Director at JAYE magazine, I was able to interview AJ for some of his top go-to tips for a glowing, beat face. Once again, his expertise and genius as an artist shined through!
As I continue to progress in my career, I’ll continue to reach out to AJ as a beauty expert. I’m so glad to have worked with him and look forward to seeing his AJ Crimson Beauty empire continue to expand!
