I’ve been a fan of Kerry Washington since her days of playing a sassy teen mom in the movie Save The Last Dance, but she was never really on my fashion radar, until a couple of years ago. I was working on a fashion story and stumbled-upon a gorgeous red carpet picture of the actress. From there I looked through more photo albums and I was smitten with the flawless tailored pieces I saw the star draped in, and the ridiculously sick-o-ning shoe and accessory game she showcased. It was inevitable for me to fall in fashion love with Ms. Washington.
Recently, the screen siren, who’s currently promoting the highly anticiapated Quentin Tarentino film, Django Unchanined starring herself and Jamie Foxx, stunned the masses in a chic 50’s/60’s inspired fashion spread in the July issue of Vogue Italia. Kerry is giving me all kinds of Diana Ross/ Old Hollywood glam in the spread that was shot by Mark Seliger. Her hair is laid in a teased bob (some people said it looked a mess, but clearly they don’t have a clue about the era the shoot was channeling…smh!) and Kerry’s usual barley-there makeup look accentuated her flawless skin.
Besides loving Kerry’s impeccable fashions in this spread, I am also counting down to the premiere of her top-rated TV show Scandal. (Wasn’t season 1 addicting?!)
From the pops of color, feminie silhouettes of the pieces and statment-making prints she worked the cameras and made me lust for a higher salary to hit up the closest designer clothing boutique! And, those poodles are the cutest! Isn’t she EVERYTHING?!
