A few days ago, I was scrolling through my Instagram timeline for kicks and giggles, when I stumbled upon an article that legit made my finger stop in its tracks. I spotted a screenshot of the below tweet from a young lady named Coral (AKA @reauxbae) and literally scratched my head in confusion.

Apparently, people have been using the hair care product, Organic Root Simulator (ORS) Olive Oil Nourishing Sheen Spray as cooking spray.
*dramatic pause*
How, Sway???
Between being stricken with instant confusion and a gut-busting laugh at this foolery, I wondered how it was possible to mistake a beauty item for cooking spray? Besides the obvious, the crazy part is this wasn’t the only incident where people have stated that they used this hairspray as cooking spray! Once Coral’s tweet went viral, several other people spoke out about their experieinces using this product as cooking spray.
I feel like these instances could’ve been eliminated if the people who bought the spray actually read the product’s label. And, it behooves me that people didn’t notice some kind of difference in the taste of their food. I’m not knocking the ORS Olive Oil spray at all because it’s awesome and gives that Jermaine Jackson-like shine to your hair. (It had my duby wrap laid for years back when I had a relaxer!).
Just as I was ready to throw shade at folks for not being a bit more vigilant, I stumbled upon yet another tweet that caused me to do even more confused head scratching.

If you go to the store and see green bottles of hairspray in the cooking oil section like the photo above, I ave two pieces of advice for you:
1. Put that ORS Olive Oil spray down! It’s for your hair, not cooking!
2. Tell an employee or store manager about this faux pas because this can’t be good for any of the parties involved.
All-natural olive oil is amazing for cooking, but it’s also amazing for your hair! Check out these tips to keep your hair looking it’s best with these natural oils.
