“Every cloud has a silver lining.”
We’re halfway through the first month of 2016, and while I’ve been fortunate to celebrate some really awesome professional and personal milestones like yielding amazing results at work and celebrating 1 year with my boo, I’ve also had a few hardships to come along.
Through my faith and the support of those closest to me, I’ve had constant reminders that God has a plan and purpose for every single thing that occurs in my life. It’s up to me to see the beauty in the process.
Whenever I’m going through something tough, I reflect on the strong women in my life. Besides my mom (the strongest and most amazing person that I know) and my aunts, siblings and loved ones, my godmother is a major example of strength and perseverance.
This vintage silver wristlet was a gift from her. She always laces me with amazing vintage fashion and accessories (like this Lady Jane, Carnaby Street, London Dress). This small clutch has just enough room for a lipstick, my ID and a few credit cards. The baroque print adds a bit of glamour to thr design of this accessory. I love the juxtaposition of something as tough as metal having a delicate floral design. I feel like it embodies the beauty and strength of femininity.
While things may not be 100 percent perfect in my life at the moment, I know that silver linings exist, and I’m thankful for the power of speaking positive things into existence.
