2020 is officially here and I’m making it a goal to be more intentional about checking in with myself. Mom Guilt is real–and while I don’t regret any time spent with my son, depriving myself of me-time has definitely taken its toll.

That’s why I’m sharing something that I plan on using as a secret weapon throughout the year… a self-love checklist! Keep reading for the free download!

Mom Guilt is real, and it’s nothing to be ashamed of.

Mom Guilt is a feeling of guilt, anxiousness, doubt and uneasiness or uncertainty that moms feel when they feel as if they’re falling short of what it means to be a “good mom.” I’ve always struggled with being away from my son since I work a full-time job, teach yoga and run this blog. I also travel for work, so my anxiety gets real.

We all cope in different ways, and for me, it meant depriving myself of alone time because my idea of being the best mom possible was spending every free moment that I had with my son.

That meant only doing at-home workouts instead of going to the yoga studio, declining invites and skipping events. (And when I went to events I felt like I was failing my son by not being present, even if he was spending quality time with his dad or grandparents.) Eventually trying to be my version of super-mom took its toll and I’ve decided that I owe it to myself and my family to do something about it!

Don’t feel guilty about spending time alone.

I encourage you to set aside at least 15 minutes a day to do something that’s totally centered around your personal well-being. This advice isn’t just for moms, it’s for anyone who happens to read this blog post.

I know it can be hard to know where to start, but ya girl has you covered. I’ve created a self-love checklist of simple actions you can take to check-in with yourself for some self-love. You don’t have to do everything on the list at once, but I encourage you to visit this multiple times a day or at least a few times per week!
