5 Makeup Foundations that look amazing on dark skin!

5 amazing foundations makeup for dark skin beauty and the beat blog

Finding the perfect makeup foundation can be quite the daunting task! There are so many options available that it can be a bit overwhelming (and fun if you’re into testing product like me!). There are so many things to consider when shopping for the perfect makeup foundation like: “Do I want liquid, cream or powder? Should I try full-coverage or something less? Do I need something for sensitive skin?” and so much more!

I’ve been using the same MAC foundations since I started really getting into makeup in college, but I’ve added a few newbies to the mix that I’m absolutely obsessed with! Here are some of my favorite makeup foundations that are in heavy rotation for me right now!

Five of my go-to makeup foundations that look amazing on dark skin!

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation

This has been my go-to full coverage foundation since I tried it for the first time back in 2006. If you’re looking for full-coverage foundation with oil control, this is definitely a product to try! I usually go for medium coverage, so I usually drop a teeny bit of this foundation on the back of my hand and mix it with face moisturizer. The end result is a gorgeous, matte result. I will never take this foundation out of rotation in my beauty routine! It’s tried-and-true, and I absolutely love it! (Buy it for $27 here.)

NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation

This is a new addition to my foundation collection. I bought it at The Makeup Show Orlando and I have zero regrets! I have friends and bloggers that I follow who swear by NARS foundations and now I know can honestly say I get what all of the hype’s about because this stuff is amazing!

It’s paraben- free and full-coverage, but lightweight. A little bit goes a long way–I can put a couple of dots on my cheeks forehead and chin and achieve an even, natural finish. I can wear it all day from the office to after-hour events and it keeps it’s pigmentation and gives a luminous-yet-matte-finish. I have been combating my oily skin (Check out these tips to help you kiss unwanted shine goodbye.) for the past couple of months, so the fact that this is an oil-free foundation is an absolutely plus! Maybelline Fit! Me Shine Free Foundation

This is the perfect foundation stick for everyday wear. It’s light, mattifying and has great buildable coverage. It slides on like creamy butter and has a matte powder-like finish. I’ve been combating oily skin, and this really is a product that minimizes shine and oil buildup. Get flawless, shine-free skin instantly and on-the-go with makeup tailor made for your skin.  Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free Foundation Free Foundation has an anti-shine core with ultra-lightweight powders built in to instantly dissolve oil.  The gel stick formula goes on creamy, blends easily, and transforms to a matte powder finish.

I purchased this tube on a whim and it has truly become a mainstay. I love to take it with me when traveling because it’s compact and easy to throw in my carry-on without worries of leaks or spills. (Find it at drugstores nationwide.)

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation

I’m a fairly new user of this liquid foundation. I know that bloggers galore swear by it, so during The Makeup Show Orlando, I stood in line for 25 minutes just to get my hands on it. This foundation was created for HD TV and film so the finish is pretty flawless. It has medium to buildable coverage, but isn’t heavy so you don’t have to worry about unwanted cake face.  It’s formulated to fit all skin types and comes in over 40 shades. I’m going to utilize this foundation for more of my fashion and up-close beauty features. After a few month of use, I have no complaints about it. (Buy it for $43 here.)

L’Oreal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Liquid Makeup

This foundation is my jam! It’s very lightweight and gives great coverage. Most of the other foundations I’ve shared in this post have thicker formulas, but this is a very watery liquid foundation. I was initially taken aback by the consistency of this foundation, but whenever I wear it I’m happy with the matte finish and a seamless blend. My skin feels like it can breathe when I’m wearing it and looks like it’s glowing, but not greasy. (Find it at drugstores nationwide.)
