Summer’s one of my my favorite times of year. Even though I live in Florida and have the luxury of experiencing fairly warm weather year-round, there’s something about this time of year that makes things come alive with music festivals, carnivals, BBQs, beach days, Rocket Pops and more!
One of the best summers I’ve ever had was when I lived in Chicago. Rooftop parties and boat rides on Lake Michigan were always on the agenda. I honestly know what Kanye means when he shouts “Summertime Chi-iiiii” on his song “Good Life.”
The beauty of it all is it extends beyond the coastal regions. There’s a familiar vibe of excitement and fun that consumes everyone during these warmer months. Speaking of familiarity, this copper dress that I snagged from the clearance rack at H&M about a year ago is one of my favorite pieces.
Besides being slightly obsessed with the dress’s vibrant copper hue and comfortable fit, I just love the familiarity that I have with the piece–I know it will look good anytime that I wear it! I paired it with more faves of mine: black chunky-heeled sandals from Topshop (similar) and a Kenneth Cole Reaction bucket bag (similar).
This past weekend, I made my way to Downtown St. Pete for some fun in the sun with my honeybun. We made a stop at the Salvador Dalí Museum and snapped a few pics of my look, but in true summer fashion, we headed to a rooftop for some afternoon fun.
