This past weekend, I took a business trip to Orlando, FL and decided to add some vacation vibes to the visit. Whenever I travel, I try to limit the amount of makeup products that I pack by bringing a single bottle of foundation, a few tubes of my favorite lipstick and other travel-sized items, when possible.

Another way that I edit what’s in my beauty bag when traveling is bringing eyeshadow palettes to free up space. The perk of this is that I’m giving myself options for a variety of looks while saving space. That’s where the Cargo Cosmetics Land Down Under Eyeshadow palette comes into play. I received a sample of this palette to review on my blog and I must admit: I’M A FAN!

My first impression of this paraben-free palette was that there were lots of pretty shimmery colors as well as a nice mix of matte hues. It has 12 shades: 6 matte shades and 6 shimmer, and came equipped with a dual-ended eyeshadow brush and black eyeliner pencil.

There were a couple of shades that I didn’t love on with my complexion like Opera and Joey, which had more of that ashy/washed look. On the plus side, I was able to use these colors to help with blending by mixing them with darker/warmer shades like Ferry to create looks with more subtle pigmentation.

Overall, the eyeshadow colors from this palette were gorgeous and vibrant with lots of pop. Some of my favorite shimmers are Suntan, Manly, Bondi and Bridge. Ferry is my favorite matte hue from the collection.

There’s some product fallout when using this palette, but I still recommend it. You get variety of 12 shades valued at $120 for a fraction of the price at $34. If you’re looking for vibrant color with nice color payoff, this is definitely a palette to consider!
